G&S Consultants LLC is a boutique firm built on the extensive non-profit and foundation experience of Phyllis Teicher Goldman and Nancy Schwartz Sternoff.
Since our founding in 2012, G&S has supported U.S.-based and international clients to develop and fine tune their fundraising, communications and governance strategies for growth and sustainability. Our work is aligned with our personal commitments to feminism, social justice and human rights.

Who We Are
Phyllis Teicher Goldman
Phyllis Teicher Goldman’s extensive experience in building development programs from the inside out has made her an expert in identifying and capitalizing on opportunities, and in translating and breaking down long-term strategies into concrete work plans. As vice president for external affairs at American Jewish World Service, Phyllis developed a cutting-edge communications and development program that grew the organization’s annual budget to $50 million from $7 million in just seven years. Previously, Phyllis served as the senior development executive at the New Israel Fund during a period of unprecedented growth. She also led development efforts as a trustee on a variety of boards and chaired successful capital campaigns for a variety of educational and cultural institutions. Phyllis currently serves on the Boards of Bend the Arc and Encounter. She holds an M.S. from the Columbia University School of Social Work and a B.A. from NYU.
Maggie Ball
With 20 years experience in the non-profit field, Maggie has helped fuel and funnel more than $100 million philanthropic dollars to non-profit organizations focused on women’s rights, human rights, civil rights, international development, LGBTI rights, HIV/AIDS, STEM education and the Jewish community. She is particularly inspired by helping organizations create the language, strategies and systems to make change in the world. In her role at G&S, she has coached early-career professionals, produced multi-year development strategies, acted as an interim Director of Development and assumed clients’ grant-writing needs. Previously, Maggie was the Director of Institutional Giving at American Jewish World Service (AJWS) and Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC). She has a Master in International Affairs from Columbia University and is a proud alumni of The College of William and Mary.
Nancy Schwartz Sternoff z"l
In 2011, Nancy Schwartz Sternoff launched G&S Consultants with Phyllis Teicher Goldman, bringing fundraising, governance, and communications expertise to myriad organizations that work at the intersection of social justice, feminism, and human rights.
